Whether learning archery for the first time or striving for a perfect score of 50, campers learn techniques, build skills and practice safe rules of the range. Fun games and competitions make archery a popular morning activity!
Grab a racket and a shuttlecock and join us at the badminton court. Have fun learning the basics and playing games like King of the Court, multiple shuttles and other fun drills. Learn about serving, net play and smashes. Badminton is a fun sport for all ages.
Sign up for baseball as a morning activity and improve your fielding, batting, base running, pitching and knowledge of the game. Learn from our experienced instructors and have fun with drills and games. Campers may also sign up to play on a Netop baseball team against another camp.
One of Netop's most popular activities! Work on skills including dribbling, passing, layups, shooting, rebounding and defense. Have fun with drills, games and competitions with other camps. Sign up for Netop's Pizza League, a massive 3-on-3 tournament with mixed ages and pizza for all participants.
Expand your horizons and take a stab at chess! Learn opening moves, tactics and strategy. Build your focus, discipline and logic through games. Chess is offered as a morning instructional activity and also is a popular free time activity with friends.
Sign up for conditioning and come to "The Pit", Netop's new fitness pavilion. Counselors lead an active session with running, exercises and strength and agility training. Campers of all ages enjoy this highly energetic and entertaining class.
Come to the "Taj" craft house and learn how to make cool leather projects, like a wallet, wrist band or belt. Cut the leather, pound in a design, lace it up and stain it. Or, do a wood burning project and make a plaque of your favorite sports team or pet. Campers also make lanyards using gimp or lace. Craft projects make great take-home items.
Calling all actors and future stars! Sign up for drama or film class and have fun playing acting games and participating in campfire skits and short films. Who knows, you might be the next Bradley Cooper or John Slattery (both Netop alums)!
Cast your rod into the waters of Birch Pond during fishing class. We have large and small mouth bass, along with pickerel, perch and others. Netop hosts a fishing derby twice each summer and invites other nearby camps to come and participate in a friendly competition.
From beginner to advanced, campers love to play guitar. During the morning activity our experienced instructors work with each camper on an individual basis to learn the basics or improve their skills. Then, campers hit the stage to perform for the camp at special events.
Bring your stick (or use one of the camp's) and join us on the field for lacrosse. Work on cradling, passing, catching, dodging and shooting in fun drills. Then, play some short field games to incorporate offensive and defensive strategies. This class is run as a skills class, with minimal to no contact.
Sign up for origami and you will learn the art of paper folding to create complex and cool projects. Based in our main Lodge, origami participants learn so many valuable skills, including eye-hand coordination, sequencing, attention, patience, spatial relations and math skills. A great activity for all ages, with awesome take-home projects!
Netop's fleet includes six sunfish sailboats, which are perfect for Birch Pond. Our sailors learn boating safety, sailing terminology, wind awareness, basic sailing maneuvers, seamanship, navigation and boat controls. Advanced sailors have opportunities to participate in regattas with other camps.
The shallow and clear waters of Birch Pond offer an excellent opportunity to learn how to snorkel and explore the underwater life. See fish, turtles and interesting plants and rock formations.
Netop has a strong soccer program for boys at all levels. The morning activity features skill building, drills and fun games. For competitive soccer players, Netop offers team competition with other camps in the area. Netop's international staff and campers bring a special dimension to our soccer program.
Join us at the Netop waterfront for swimming. Campers work on a variety of strokes and improve their technique, while learning to have fun and be safe in the water. Competitive swimmers have the opportunity to enter meets with other camps or strive to break the Netop swim records during tribal games.
Featuring three red clay tennis courts, Netop campers work on skills including grip, footwork, forehand and backhand swings, serves and net play. Drills and games round out the morning class. Matches with other camps are available for competitive players.
Pass, set, spike, block, dig and serve! Come to the Netop sand court and learn how to play volleyball or improve your game. Along with fun drills and games, competitions with other camps are offered for team play.
Netop's 100 acres offer unlimited opportunities to explore, learn and experience the art of outdoor living. From building a shelter to building a fire or learning about trees, rocks and wildlife, the woodsman class is a fun way to gain outdoor skills and soak up our beautiful Maine setting.
Learn how to design, cut, build and finish wood projects like lamps, foot stools, candy dispensers, bird houses, ping pong paddles and more! Our wood shop is always busy with campers learning how to make cool projects to take home. Counselors provide careful supervision and guidance.
Netop was exactly what I wished for him to experience - he did not want the summer to end.
