Wilderness Trips

Hike, paddle, climb, camp, make S'mores... and build memories for life.

Netop’s access to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the many lakes, rivers and mountains of Maine is a big asset to our wilderness trip program. All trips are geared to the age and skill level of the campers and are led by senior counselors with training and experience. Favorites include Mt. Washington, Coos Canyon, Pleasant Mountain, Kancamagus Highway, Isle au Haut and Mt. Moosilauke. Older campers are given the option to travel to Maine’s famed Mt. Katahdin or Acadia National Park. Trips range in length from 1-3 days and all campers are encouraged to participate.

Netop High Peaks Club

Campers are offered a range of hiking trips and each hike is charted according to the official mountain elevation. Over time, participants accumulate heights that qualify toward four levels of achievement:

Base camp – 5,280 feet
Pike’s Peak – 14,114 feet
Denali – 20,310 feet
Everest – 29,029 feet

Achievement awards are given to campers who reach a new level.

Where do we hike? A few examples:

Mt. Katahdin
Acadia National Park
Mt. Washington
Franconia Ridge
Grafton Notch
Mt. Chocorua
Mt. Moosilauke
Hawk Mountain
Tumbledown Mountain
Mount Blue
Rattlesnake Mountain

Thomas came back so enthusiastic about his whole experience at Netop. I feel that his confidence level has increased and, as importantly, he's a truly happy child.
